David Schneider, Proprietor
David is the managing partner and wine director for Row 14, responsible for all day-to-day operations of the business. Prior to landing in Denver, David owned the esteemed restaurant Parallax which he opened with his mentor Zack Bruell in 2004; Zack’s cuisine and David’s Wine Spectator award-winning wine list made Parallax one of the most successful and highly regarded establishments in Northeast Ohio. David spent many of his restaurant years in Chicago, where in 1999 he created and founded the very successful multi-faceted restaurant / wine bar / retail concept Bin 36 in River North and its subsequent location in Lincolnshire. Prior to being a restaurant owner, David served as general manager to Spruce Restaurant for three years after starting his managerial pursuits with Shaw’s Crab House, one of the many famed Lettuce Entertain You restaurants. David’s career in restaurants started after attending Ohio State University and working for four amazing years with Bruell at his restaurant Z Contemporary Cuisine in Cleveland.
Jensen Cummings, Executive Chef
If there was someone destined to be in the restaurant industry, it’s Jensen. A southern California native, Jensen’s culinary heritage dates back hundreds of years to his French family name, La Fond — a name derived from the classic sauce made from deglazing a pan used to roast meats or vegetables. Jensen’s grandfather and great grandfather were both restaurant owners, as are three uncles, who own seven restaurants between them. Before joining Row 14 in July 2011, Jensen was Chef de Cuisine at the acclaimed TAG Restaurant under nationally award-winning chef Troy Guard. Prior to that, he served as executive chef at Kevin Taylor’s at the Opera House and worked alongside James Beard award winner Debbie Gold at 40 Sardines in Kansas City. Moving to Iowa after high school to work for two uncles at their five combined restaurants, Jensen studied at Des Moines Culinary Academy under Chef Robert Anderson. Active in Denver’s food and dining scene, Jensen is an advocate for Colorado Fresh Markets, Colorado Department of Agriculture, and Colorado Proud building relations between farmers and restaurants.
